# Configure Your Hotel Settings in MesobOrdering

> Set your hotel's brand identity, payment methods, sound alerts, Telegram notifications, and public profile from the MesobOrdering System Configuration page.

The System Configuration page is your central control panel for everything that shapes how MesobOrdering looks, behaves, and communicates on behalf of your hotel. You can reach it at `/admin/config`. The page is organized into four tabs — **Identity**, **Payments**, **Alerts**, and **Profile** — each covering a distinct aspect of your setup. A sticky footer bar containing the **Save** button stays visible no matter how far you scroll, so your changes are always one click away from being applied.

  Changes you make on this page are **not saved automatically**. You must click the **Save** button in the sticky footer before navigating away, or your edits will be lost.

## Identity Tab

The Identity tab (`/admin/config → Identity`) controls your hotel's brand presentation and the connectivity details your guests see inside the menu app.

### Brand Identity

| Field           | Description                                                                                                                                                    |
| --------------- | -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
| **Hotel Name**  | The display name used throughout the guest-facing app and printed receipts.                                                                                    |
| **Brand Color** | Pick a color using the visual color picker or type a hex value directly (e.g. `#2C7A4B`). This color tints buttons, accents, and highlights in the guest menu. |
| **Logo**        | Paste a publicly accessible image URL or use the upload button to host your logo directly. Recommended size: 256 × 256 px, PNG with transparent background.    |
| **Currency**    | Fixed to **ETB (Ethiopian Birr)**. All prices across menus, orders, and reports are shown in ETB.                                                              |

### Guest Connectivity

| Field                 | Description                                   |
| --------------------- | --------------------------------------------- |
| **Wi-Fi Name (SSID)** | The name of your hotel's guest Wi-Fi network. |
| **Wi-Fi Password**    | The password for that network.                |

Both fields are displayed to guests inside the menu app so they can connect without asking staff. Leave them blank if you prefer not to show Wi-Fi details publicly.

## Payments Tab

The Payments tab lets you configure the digital payment methods guests can use to settle their bills. You can add as many providers as your hotel supports.

### Adding a Payment Method

    On the Payments tab, locate the **Add Payment Method** panel.

  <Step title="Select a provider">
    Choose a provider from the **Type** dropdown. Available options include **TeleBirr**, **CBE**, **Awash Bank**, **Dashen Bank**, and others.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Fill in the details">
    | Field                      | Description                                                       |
    | -------------------------- | ----------------------------------------------------------------- |
    | **Display Label**          | The name shown to guests, e.g. "Pay via TeleBirr".                |
    | **Account / Phone Number** | The account number or phone number that receives payments.        |
    | **Account Holder Name**    | The registered name on the account, shown for guest confirmation. |
  </Step>

  <Step title="Save the method">
    Click **"Add \[Provider Name]"** (the button label updates to match the selected provider). The new method appears in your list immediately.
  </Step>

<Note>
  TeleBirr requires a valid Ethiopian mobile number. Accepted formats are **09XXXXXXXX**, **07XXXXXXXX**, or **+2519XXXXXXXX / +2517XXXXXXXX**.

### Managing Your Payment Methods

Once added, each payment method appears as a row in the list. You can:

* Click **↑** or **↓** to reorder methods — guests see them in the order you set.
* Click **✕** to remove a method you no longer accept.

  If you add no payment methods at all, guests will be prompted to **call the waiter** for payment assistance rather than seeing a payment screen.

## Alerts Tab

The Alerts tab controls the in-browser audio cues that notify your staff of activity, and connects MesobOrdering to a Telegram bot for real-time notifications.

### Sound Alert Toggles

Use the toggle switches to enable or disable each alert sound:

| Alert                          | Triggers when…                                   |
| ------------------------------ | ------------------------------------------------ |
| **New Order Entry**            | A guest submits a new order from any table.      |
| **Kitchen Ready Alert**        | The kitchen marks an order as ready for service. |
| **Billing Assistance Request** | A guest requests the bill from their table.      |

### Telegram Bot Integration

Connecting a Telegram bot lets you and your team receive live order alerts, bill notifications, and daily summary reports directly in Telegram — even when you're away from the admin dashboard. Once connected, you can also send commands to the bot:

| Command         | Action                                                       |
| --------------- | ------------------------------------------------------------ |
| `/status`       | Returns the current number of open orders and active tables. |
| `/orders`       | Lists all pending orders with table numbers.                 |
| `/pause [item]` | Temporarily marks a menu item as unavailable.                |

#### How to Connect Telegram

  <Step title="Start the linking process">
    On the Alerts tab, click **"Connect Telegram"**. A 6-digit link code appears on screen.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Note your code">
    Keep this page open and take note of the 6-digit code displayed. You'll need it in the next step.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Open Telegram and find the bot">
    On your phone or desktop, open Telegram and search for **@AlphaBotServiceBot**.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Send the link command">
    Send the following message to the bot: `/link [YOUR CODE]` — replacing `[YOUR CODE]` with the 6-digit code. Use the **Copy** button next to the code to copy the full command to your clipboard, then paste it into the Telegram chat.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Verify the connection">
    Return to the Alerts tab in MesobOrdering and click **"Check Status"**.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Confirm success">
    Once linked, the Telegram section turns green and displays **"Telegram is connected"**. Your bot will now forward notifications to the linked chat.
  </Step>

To disconnect the bot at any time, click the **Disconnect** button and confirm the prompt.

<Note>
  Link codes **expire after 10 minutes**. If yours expires before you complete the steps, click **"New Code"** to generate a fresh one and start from Step 2.

## Profile Tab

The Profile tab defines your hotel's public-facing listing — what guests see when they scan your QR code and view your hotel's details page.

### Public Profile

| Field           | Description                                                                                                                     |
| --------------- | ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
| **Tagline**     | A short, punchy line that sums up your hotel (max 120 characters). Shown prominently on your public profile.                    |
| **Description** | A longer paragraph introducing your hotel, its atmosphere, and what makes it special.                                           |
| **Website URL** | Your hotel's official website, linked from the profile page.                                                                    |
| **Cover Image** | The hero image displayed at the top of your public profile. Use a high-resolution landscape image (recommended: 1200 × 400 px). |

### Contact Information

| Field       | Description                                |
| ----------- | ------------------------------------------ |
| **Phone**   | Primary front-desk or reservations number. |
| **Email**   | Guest-facing contact email address.        |
| **Address** | Your hotel's full street address.          |

### Location & Map

You can pin your hotel on the map using any of three methods:

* **Auto-Detect GPS** — Click the **Detect** button to use your browser's location to set the coordinates automatically.
* **Manual Coordinates** — Type your **Latitude** and **Longitude** values, then click **"Generate Map from Coordinates"** to plot the pin.
* **Address to Map** — Type your address into the address field and click the **→** button to geocode it into map coordinates.

Alternatively, paste a **Google Maps embed URL** directly into the embed field to use a custom map view.

### Social Media

Link your hotel's social accounts so guests can follow you. Supported platforms:

**Facebook · Instagram · X/Twitter · TripAdvisor**

Paste the full profile URL for each platform you want to display.

### Amenities

Click any chip to add it to your hotel's amenity list:

**Free Wi-Fi · Parking · Pool · Gym · Spa · Restaurant · Bar · Room Service · Conference Room · Airport Shuttle · Laundry · 24h Reception · Air Conditioning · Elevator · Rooftop Terrace · Kids Area**

To add an amenity that isn't in the preset list, type it into the custom amenity field and click **+ Add**.

### Opening Hours

The opening hours table lets you set your hotel's hours on a per-day basis:

| Column     | Description                                         |
| ---------- | --------------------------------------------------- |
| **Day**    | Day of the week (Monday through Sunday).            |
| **Opens**  | Time picker for when your hotel opens that day.     |
| **Closes** | Time picker for when your hotel closes.             |
| **Closed** | Toggle this on for days your hotel is fully closed. |

### Photo Gallery

Add images to your public photo gallery by pasting image URLs into the gallery input and pressing Enter. Each thumbnail shows an **×** button — click it to remove that photo from the gallery.

## Saving Your Changes

When you're done making changes on any tab, click the **Save** button in the sticky footer bar at the bottom of the page. You'll see a **"Saving…"** spinner while the request processes, followed by a **"✓ Settings saved!"** confirmation message once your changes have been successfully stored.
